Join us at Automata for an unique evening of new sound works for live performance by three cutting-edge composers: Liew Niyomkarn (Antwerp), Innes Eysermans (Antwerp), and Eric Heep (Los Angeles)

INNE EYSERMANS at the same time
A new work exploring pre-recorded data and time in semi-structured, interactive environments created in Max/MSP and Mira.

LIEW NIYOMKARN Aquabeez
A newest granular performance that conjures an image of greenery landscape, a dense swarm of insects. Liew reuses sound from field recording, feedback loop and traditional music that is stretched, mingled all together into a new form that leaves its original.

ERIC HEEP Silo
A new piece for bricks, piano wire, motors, rice, and automatic door locks.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS //

INNE EYSERMANS
Antwerp-based producer, musician and sound artist Inne Eysermans creates musical performances and spatial compositions, often in combination with text and/or (moving) image.  She has produced music and sound for film, theatre and radio/podcast. Her works encompass synthesis, resampling techniques, field recordings, found sounds and objects.  For her live shows, Inne works mainly with Max/MSP & Mira. She is interested in amplifying, transforming and interpreting physical and virtual spaces which embeds instructed and spontaneous actions. She explores pre-recorded data and time in semi-structured, interactive environments created in Max/MSP, Mira and through web coding.  In 2017 she joined as lecturer in sound/music at The Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp.

LIEW NIYOMKARN
Liew Niyomkarn is Thai born, Antwerpen based artist who works with sound, drawings, found objects and essay. Liew’s work is known for its ecstatic and unpredictable event. Often expresses a sensory of flexibility and impermanence behavior through live performance. She often uses essay, found-objects, and sculpture in her performance.  Her works range from music composition, drawing, storytelling, and real-time performance. Liew has performed in many various places such as High Zero festival (Baltimore), BetaLevel (Los Angeles), Studio Loos (Den Haag), WORM (Rotterdam), Het Bos (Belgium), DAAD (Berlin), The Wulf (Los Angeles) and among other places.   http://liewniyomkarn.com/
 
ERIC HEEP
Eric Heep is a performer and composer who lives and works in Los Angeles. His practice includes incorporating existing technology in novel ways, coding, and experimental and procedural sound. He strives to expose the processes and form of natural phenomena. He performs sporadically around Los Angeles and has had his work performed for or at The Dog Star Festival, the wulf, The Geffen Contemporary, CCRMA, The Readers Chorus, and more.
