Closeup of dot encrustacean, a drawing by Carole Kim and Regine Verougstraete

From the Artist:

With each day, we encounter the novelty of social situations that can at once evoke joy while reminding us how that "muscle" may have atrophied. I wanted to create a welcoming context for a very hands-on, intimate exchange with people who share a love of improvisation, play, experimentation, exchange, drawing, leaving traces and embodied awareness. I am thinking a lot about how we step out into the world and engage with one another.  What kind of awareness and consciousness do we wish to reawaken as we do so?

I find it infinitely affirming to witness the delightfully energetic and surprising nature of these works, each one so different from the other.  The hybridity of a generative collaborative process infused with a huge dose of pleasure in the making makes me feel like so much is possible.
