“Do you wanna be ready?”

We are stuck in a world chaotically breeding hatred, killing off every connection we’ve held dear, forced to decide whether it’s worth it to fight for a future we will never see. How long will we survive?

Do you wanna be ready? is an attempt to compose a home within a storefront, complete with all the antecedents to a family gathering. It is the home, the theater, and the installation. It is the gathering in and of itself. It is the question that we must pose to ourselves, to each other, to the earth, in order to test whether or not our world-building is worth it. It is the beacon, the call, the collect.

Do you wanna be ready? was composed of three distinct but intermingling works: Uncomissioned 11.12.22 (2022; 68 min), Practices in Readiness (2021 - 2022; 30 min), and readings from Olympic Blues (2020 - ongoing). Audiences were invited to share a home visit with Taegen in her Automata living room, attend a live broadcast watch party, and tune into a live online broadcast.
